Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, my passion for photography began when I was 10 years old, shooting street and landscape scenes in Japan. Since then, I have spent years meticulously learning photo composition and editing in order to forward my skills as a portrait photographer.
My commission work primarily consists of outdoor portrait photography, where I aim to capture a mix of candid and dramatic shots for my clients. I also enjoy editing photos as much as I do taking them, where the time I spent learning Photoshop and Lightroom in high school has greatly assisted my photographic skills.
I am currently a member of Tom&JayPhotos, alongside my colleague Tomas. The two of us share a common love of street photography, where we focus primarily on capturing street scenes, with the occasional impromptu street portrait sprinkled in.
As a first-year university student currently enrolled in Medical Science, working as a freelance photographer allows me to put one of my favourite hobbies to good use - that is when I'm not studying!
Despite the fact that I started shooting on digital, I've come to adore shooting on 35mm film. If you would like your portrait taken for personal or business reasons, feel free to contact us!
My main camera is the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, which I use for photoshoots and street photography. Although a fairly old DSLR by modern standards, its track record of having captured episodes of Dr. House, scenes from the Avengers and even Barack Obama's presidential portrait truly separates this camera from the rest, considering the fact that its photos still punch way above their weight in today's age.
For my film camera, I shoot on the Canon EOS 630, a full frame SLR. When shooting film, I prefer film stocks that allow vibrant, nostalgic colours in my photos, thus making options such as Kodak Portra among my favourites of all time.
